George's Marvelous Medicine

This boy is called George and he has a very very very very mean mean mean mean grandma.

One bright day George is mum and dad had to go shopping and his mum said "Do not forget to give grandma her medicine, OK George!"and grandma blurted out "and at 11 o'clock!"

So George's mum and dad drove off! George's grandma wanted a cup of tea and ordered George to get it for her! Grandma was very difficult with her tea, sometimes it was to cold or sometimes it was not sweet enough, you see very difficult!

George decided to make her a magic medicine that would do  all sorts of things to her. He put all sorts of things like shampoo ,then he went in the bathroom and opened the medical door but then he remembered that he wasn't allowed to go there, so the medical door was out of bound. So he went in every room. Suddenly he remembered the other medical door in the hail barn. Then when he was in the hail barn he opened the medical door and he even found sheep dip (gross,I mean who would wont to drink that)!

Then the time came to give the medicine to Grandma (gross again)! When she drank it sparks started to come out of her throat, and then she grew taller and taller. Then she went blasting out of the roof. Suddenly a car noise came  rushing through and George saw that it was mum and dad he shouted"oh no it's mum and dad!"Mum and dad came through ,First it was mum and she carried some eggs and saw grandma! She screamed with horror!Secondly  dad came in and he said" George have you got some more of this magic medicine!"I replied"Umm yes yes i do."So we used it to make the animals on the farm bigger! There was no more medicine so dad said''come on George we need to get some more''! So i told dad what i had put in it but i couldn't remember a lot off the things! So we went to the bathroom and dad saw that some of the bottles were empty and he explained that the bottles  that where empty were the bottles i used

Winter Wolf

Winter Wolf (Mammoth Read)
This story is about a boy called Josh. Josh 's mum went to hospital and had to stay with his dad. Since Josh's mum went to hospital everything was not the same. Josh's mum didn't read stories, didn't play with him, didn't bake cakes and stuff like that and he thought his life was very miserable.

They lived on a farm. One night Josh was reading a book and on the front cover was a picture of a wolf he was reading it very carefully, because he didn't even hear his dad speak .Josh went to bed and the window sheet's weren't drown .And that night he saw a wolf by the side of his window. He followed  the wolf and went to a cliff and Josh stopped but the wolf carried on, and then it stopped and it let out a" HO-OOWL!"

Josh went back home and to sleep!

Well I'm not here to tell the

The Witches

It's about this boy called Alex; his parents where very rich. They lived in a nice house and had a nice car. They lived in England but they were Norwegian. One day they where driving in the mountains near a cliff (but the cliff wasn't that high up) but the car slipped and they fell down the cliff , Alex's parents died, but Alex was lucky because he only had a scar, and ended up in hospital. Alex went to live with his grandma after the accident. His grandma lived in Norway .

Alex's grandma loved telling stories to children. She told stories to Alex because he was her favourite nephew . One day she told him about witches because they were very famous in Norway. That was when Alex was starting to become curious. Alex's grandma told him about the children who disappeared . The first one went in a picture and lived there, it was strange, and the second one was turned to stone.

Now Alex's grandma was talking about how to recognise a witch. First they all wear gloves because they have cat claws and second they have a wig because witches don't have any hair.

OK, so I have told you a bit about a of the story and if you read the book you will find out more.

The Horrible Histories series . Amandine PRIVE

The Horrible Histories

I would recommend these books for children over the age of 7 because sometimes they are a bit gruesome and horrid, but first I am going to mention some of the reasons why I like reading them .

I enjoy the pictures and the dialogues, they are funny and they help you to understand the writing in the passage on each page. Also the series talks about very important historical facts, for example in:

- The Rotten Romans : They enjoyed going to war. Each time they found someone who was an enemy, they wanted to start a war with them. Through gaining territories and properties they became stronger and richer and managed to build a bigger Empire.

- Vile Victorians :
They were called the Victorians because they are named after Victoria who was queen of England from 1837 to 1901. The Vile Victorians put in place good things like: improved medicine, toilets and plumbing, banned women and children from working in mines, free education…
The Vile Victorians did wrong things too!
They conquered many parts of the world to increase Britain's wealth. There was a lot of killing going on in various wars, and it is very distracting, I mean for me the pictures are very distracting. Although the Victorians introduced free education by 1891 for most of the Queen Victoria's reign many children did difficult and dangerous jobs.

So I have told you about these books so I think I have finished!
