Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, God of the seas is accused of stealing the most powerful weapon in the world, Zeus's Master Bolt. He travels around the USA with his friend Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena Goddess of War, Wisdom and Useful Arts. His protecter Grover, a saytr, also accompanies Percy during his quest to find the Master Bolt.
I would recomend this book to ages 9+. It makes Greek history so interesting. You get to know all the Greek Gods, and learn about them without realising. This book is also very, very funny.
I would also recommend The Percy Jackson Series: The Sea of Monsters, The Titans Curse, The Battle of The Laberinth and The Last Olympian.
USA The Greek world travels around the world in different places. For example, instead of Olympus being on Mount Olympus it is on top of the Empire State building and the Underworld is in Hollywood.

The Thornthwaite Inheritance
The Thornthwaite Inheritance winner of the Blue Peter book of the year 2012 is about two kids Ovid and Lorelli Thornthwaite. Ovid and Lorelli have been trying to kill each other for a very long time but all of a sudden they decide to make a truce. But not for long Ovid and Lorelli start again or are they?
Mr.Farthing is going to create this " truce" but since he lives so far away the "truce" will take forever because he lives 2 hours away from the Thornthwaite Manor he is invited to live in the Manor, but his son Adam Farthing onc ehe set his eyes on one of the twins his whole inside changes forever.
I really like this book it has lots mysteries and strange things happening. A bit of love and bit of adventure. I can truely understand why it won Blue Peter award 2012.

Harry Potter and the Chanber of Secrets
Join Harry and his Friends (Ron and Hermione) in a new and exciting adeventure. It all starts during summer. (Well, really the story started when Harry was born.) Ok, so first there is this house elf named Dobby that comes to warn Harry about terriable things happening at Hogwarts and told him not to go back. But Harry refused to listen and went back to school . Not long after he made his way to school unspeakable things began to happen. First it was the caretaker's cat and a note on the wall that said " THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE! " Next, well I can't tell you sooo, read the book yourself!!
Night Mail
Night Mail
This is the Night Mail crossing the border,
Bringing the cheque and the postal order,
Letters for the rich, lettters for the poor,
The shop at the corner and the girls next door.
Pulling up Beattock, a steady climb:
The gradeient's against her, but she's on time.
Past cotton-grass and moorland Boulder,
Shovelling white steam over her shoulder,
Snorting noisily as she passes,
Silent miles of wind-bent grasses.
Birds turn thier heads as she approaches,
Stare from the bushes at her blank-faced coaches,
Sheep dogs cannot turn her course;
they slumber with paws across.
In the farm she passes no one wakes,
But a jug in the bedroom shakes.
Dawn freshens, the climb is done. down towards Glasgow she descends,
Towards the steam tugs yelping down the glade of cranes,
Towards the fields of apparatus of furnaces
Set on the dark plain like gigantic chessmen.
All Scotland waits for her:In dark glens, beside pale-green lochs
Men long for news.
Letters of thanks, letters from banks,
Letters of joy from girl and boy,
Receipted bills and invitations
To inspect new stock or to visit relations,
And applications for situations,
And timid lovers' declarations,
And gossip, gossip from all the nations,
News circumstantial, news financial,
Letters with holiday snaps to enlarge in,
Letters with faces scrawled on the margin,
Letters from uncles, cousins, and aunts,
Letters to Scotland from the South of France,
Letters of condolence to Highlands and Lowlands
Written on paper of every hue,
The pink, the violet, the white and the blue,
The chatty, the catty, the boring, the adoring,
The cold and official and the heart's outpouring,
Clever, stupid, short and long,
The typed and the printed and the spelt all wrong.
Thousands are still asleep,
Dreaming of terrifying monsters
Or of friendly tea beside the band in Cranston's or Crawford's:
Asleep in working Glasgow, asleep in well-set Edinburgh,
Asleep in granite Aberdeen,
They continue their dreams,
But shall wake soon and hope for letters,
And none will hear the postman's knock
Without a quickening of the heart,
For who can bear to feel himself forgotten?

The Simpsons Get some fancy book lernin'
I love this comic because there are really funny versions of Shakespeare, Greek myths, Bible stories and 1001 Arabian nights, also Hans Across America . My favorite story is The Good Mother in Hans across America because it's funny when the mother literally cries her eyes out!
At the moment I am halfway through the book so I don't know what else there is but to entertain you here is the website for the Simpsons comics: http://tscs.xtreemhost.com/
If you read this you will laugh your eyes out. (Not literally, but if you try you might succeed!)
This book is so funny - please do read it!

Naruto
I like the stories about Ninjas in the Naruto manga books.
Here's part of a review by Bill Sherman:
It took me a while to key into Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto. The first time I read the opening chapter of his saga in the second issue of the monthly Shonen Jump magazine, I was not particularly impressed. Ninja action? A young boy hero who yearns to be the best at what he does? Could there be more generic shonen manga material? I quickly started skipping Naruto's adventures in the mangazine, concentrating on "One Piece" and "Yu Yu Hakisho" instead.

Yet Uzumaki
Naruto, the showy mouthed spud, refused to be ignored. Undeterred by my
indifference, the character developed his own avid American fan base, bolstered
by the appearance of a popular animé adaptation on The Cartoon Network.
Paperback collections of his adventures started topping the Publisher's
Weekly sales charts - monstrous the tar out of high-profile American
event comics collections.

I know what you did last Wednesday
There is a boy called Nick and he is very clever, but on the other hand he has a brother. His brother Tim is so so so stupid. So Nick had a friend called Rory McDougal who lives on Crocodile Island in Scotland. One day Tim got a letter and he thinks that it is from his mom and dad but it is from Rory. He opened the letter and read it:
It has been many years since we met, but I would like to invite you to a reunion of old boys and girls from St Egbert's Comprehensive, which will take place from Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th July. I am sure you are busy but but I am so keen to see you again that I will pay you £1,000 to make the journey to Scotland.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever is a brilliant book. It is all about Greg who made a newspaper and tried to sell them by making loads of signs and sticking them to the school wall. But it started to rain and the ink from the signs dripped and dropped all over the school wall. The teacher finds out and they have to scrub it all off. Which causes them a lot of work but Rowley blamed it all on Greg when it was really both of them but in the end Greg takes the blame for everything in the end.
The characters are :
- Greg
- Rowley
- Mum
- Dad
- Roderick

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is all about a boy called Bruno who moved to Berlin Germany because his father got a job in there and he didn't want to go alone. I have watched the movie of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas At the end of the story the boy goes into his friend's jail and try to be like him so that they can both find his dad . But it is quite hard for Bruno because he is used to someone else doing everything for him. The way I felt when I was reading it was really scary and sad at the same time because it was sad that he died and scary because he just met a prisoner and it is right next to his house and I would hate to be Bruno because he does not get listened to by his family.

Les Miserables
The Miserables is is a book by Victor Hugo about when a man named Jean Valjean was let out of jail and a really nasty policemen. This was set in the time of the French Revolution. When I watched the musical at the cinema there was a really funny bit where a man says "But we want our courgette back" instead of "but we want our Cosette back." Jean Valjean looks after Cosette and is the mayor of the new town. The sad part is because he dies at the end and he changes his name to Mr.
